co-working performing arts centre
B'Arch
Aug - Nov 2019
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The co-working performing arts centre is a movement to revive Chinatown's performing arts heritage by adapting to current-day arts culture. re-STAGE redefines a stagnant age of cultural performing arts through a morphological series of traditional to modern transformation by experiencing a sense of history through architectural, experiential, social, and programmatic elements of a performing arts centre.

The new architecture is retrofitted as an extension from the current run down performing arts centre of Chinatown, where the nostalgic beauty of arts and culture is retained while moving forward with time, current trends, and modern day progression.

The performing artc centre fuses chinese cultural traditional performing arts to artisans and performers. It creates a movement to educate, conserve, appreciate and involve the community in preserving the beauty of cultural and performing arts. By bringing back the old KL through co-working cultural arts, a forseeable future when time stands in the present while still connected to its past will be portrayed through this art movement.
