Klang, Malaysia
The nostalgia of heritage buildings and traditional activities along Klang’s main street is significantly important to locals. Most daily activities along are carried out by third generation elderlies who have been in Klang since the very beginning of its glory days.
The library highlights the connectivity between local social activities along the street as part of its programs. These social activities are designed as key moments, forming “symphonies” in the library. Bridging symphonies amplifies the site’s potentials by bridging its identity into the building, allowing the existing community to enjoy activities and immerse themselves into a library’s ambiance in an environment they are familiar with.
The symphonies are conjoined by a heartfelt common language understood by all - a language that passes by ear to ear, creating a link to our hearts.
