Project Brief:
This additional research project has relation to the second part of the second project in this module. This project is an individual project whereby students are required to carry out their own investigation, research and understanding on their chosen lego character individually.
Students are required to understand, research, study, investigate, and explore on a chosen Lego character. All forms of data collection about the Lego character will be translated into ideas, inspiration, design, sketches, and words, to be complied as understandings of the Lego character.
It is a design process which is ongoing until the final model design. It familiarizes students with the information gathering and idea transformation process. Through the DPJs, students will be able to develop and explore ideas for the final Hanging Mobile Display.

Project Process:
DPJ 1 is an understanding of my character Harley Quinn.
I had to do a lot of research on her because before this I had zero knowledge on her.
However, after I got to know Harley and her extraordinary mindset, I began to like discovering more and more about her.
She has caught my attention and interest which is why I have put a lot of passion into making each and every Design Process Journal especially the first one because it is my very first understanding and research on Harley Quinn.
DPJ 1:
I have drawn Harley Quinn many times in order to show and express her story using graphics
Discussing I have broken down information of Harley Quinn and did a mind map on these information
DPJ 2:
DPJ 2 is selecting words to describe Harley Quinn based on the research that I have found about her in DPJ 1.
The selected words are then transformed into 2D art which are expressed using paper collage.The paper collage has to have its own concept based on the word in relation to my character.
This DPJ is very important in order for me to be able to translate the selected word into simple designs.

DPJ 3:
This is the final part of the process journal which is a brief run through what is a 3D model.
It is the beginning of hands on work in Project 2B where all previous 2D designs and sketches are translated into 3D hanging mobiles.I have gathered all the information to come up with a good 3D hanging mobile which expresses the word I have chosen for Harley Quinn.
Most of the DPJ 3 are sketches and ideas for the 3D model.

Reflection:
This Design Porcess Journal was a sub-project whereby we had to do additional research on my Lego character.
Before I started this project, I had absolutely no idea who my lego character, Harley Quinn,is. However, after researching more and more on this character, I had totally gone into her character and I had a lot of fun working on her. This project made me “fall in love” with my character because I could relate and understand what she has been through and how her character is.
It was great working on her in this project due to her special, extraordinary, and weird personalities.It was hard for me to continuously draw Harley because of my lacking drawing skills. I started off with tracing which lead to a huge improvement at the end of the project.
Before this, I was usually the data collector and information conveyor but this time I had to try and sketch a design based on my imagination. It was difficult at first but slowly I have gotten the hang of it.What stopped me from getting better was my confidence level. Being part of this project proves my improvement level from the beginning of the semester up till now.
It is important to love what you are doing and in fact I did love working on this project which made me put all of my heart and focus while working on this project. It has showed me that passions and hardwork can get you anywhere, any design and have any outcome.
