This Course

Bright choice for those who have implanted a liking or shows interest towards life lasting career architecture or quantity surveying.

Foundation in Natural Built Environment (FNBE) is under the School of Architecture, Building and Design in Taylor's University Lakeside Campus for students with interest towards architecture or quantity surveying.

This is a 1 year course with 2 semesters.

The programmes offered during foundation is geared towards architecture and Quantity Surveying in the following degree courses offered.

Other than offering full facilities indoor visual learning, creative note taking, hand on projects, in-class tutorials, group discussions, self research, etc.

This programme also offers out of class activites such as site visit, understanding of topography, one day trips, experience based projects, real life scenario studies, industry relavent studies, etc.

So those taking this programme would have a fair amount of time spent both indoors and outdoors while being exposed to both written knowledge and real life experience.

The programme aims to introduce students to the different fields of study in the natural and built environments, and equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a degree in Architecture or Quantity Surveying (QS).

The structure of the programme is designed to ensure that students gain an optimal education as they progress from foundation through to the degree. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to enroll into our degree programmes, creating a seamless transition to obtain an Architecture or Quantity Surveying degree at Taylor’s.

1-YEAR PROGRAMME

Strong Built Environment Focus

Exposure to specialised modules provides a solid foundation to pursue degrees in Architecture or QS; such as Culture & Civilisations and Introduction to Drawing (Architecture), as well as Principle of Economics, Basic Accounting and Mathematics (QS).
Develop critical thinking and idea generation skills, and enable students to visualise and communicate their ideas to the audience through module such as Creative Thinking Skills.
