This is the final for Introduction to Construction Industry which is divided into both group task and individual task. The group task is a simple discussion as the site analysis while the individual are the student's own suggestions and proposal for this project.
For the group task, students are required to form a group of 3-4 people and find a specific empty land to initiate a small construction project. The size of the land must be between 50m x 50m - 50m x 70m. The land has to be a potential functional land where construction is allowed to be carried out.
As for the individual task, after the site analysis as a group, students are to propose a project. In the proposed project, students must include any one or a combination between two of the following purposes:
1. Recreational Area
2. Commercial Area
3. Industrial Area
4. Agricultural Area
5. Tourism Area
6. Residential Area
A brief proposal with reasoning, diagrams, pictures and explanations are to be included in the project brief.

We started this peoject off by carrying out a site visit at the chosen loacation, Desa Park City and investigated the site location and the nearby facilities.
We have gathered and analyzed data on the site which will be used for our group and individual task.

After carrying out the group task, we have managed to understand the site and the nearby facilities after the site visit and site analysis.
From the outcome of the final group task, I have started to work on my individual task for this project. I have came up with a proposal and suggestion for this area based on a few factors. Some of the factors include the characteristic of this land such as the topography, climate and wind, the nearby facilities and the convenience of entering this land.
I have also decided on the elements to be included in my proposed site.

This is our final project from Introduction to Construction Industry. This is a project which is quite different from the past two projects as this project is not related to research on professions in the construction industry. This project is related to investigating and analyzing an area then planning a proposal or suggestion to devolop that area. This proposal is known as "the project brief"
From the group task, I have managed to apply the knowledge learnt in Constructed Landscape while carrying out a site analysis at the chosen site. As a group, we have managed to identify the wind direction, topography and investigated the climate change by having Justin (who lives near the site location) take note of the weather changes in that area. These are skills which have been developed while carrying out one of the projects in Constructed Landscape. Now, these skills are applied in this project.
I have also learnt how to come up with a good proposal and suggestion based on the characteristics of the site location and nearby area. This project has taught me to research on existing areas and derive a realistic proposal. For example, road links, car park sizes, the people around that, etc.
Other than that, I have came to realize the importance of continuous practice on digital literacy. In this modern era, almost everything uses computerized programme and software to store data. Therefore, we must always be up to date with commonly used software and continuously practice using them in order to familiarize ourselves with these software. Without continuous practice, we might not be used to the digital world and this will reduce our efficiency in working.
In conclusion, I have managed to apply learnt skills from previous projects and also managed to learn new things from both individual and group task.
