

Introduction:
Effective Public Communication is a module which emphasizes on human interaction. As the word "public communication" means communication whether it is in the form of face to face communication, communication through social media, verbal communcation or even non-verbal communication, this module covers anything to do with interaction between people in the society.
This module covers both in class and out of class activities. In lecture classes, students studies facts and methods of communicating with one another. Projects given out of lecture classes involves application of communication studies in the real world. Projects also require teamwork, cooperation, communication and interaction between group members in order to reach and complete a common goal.

Module Outline:
Effective Public Communication is a module which introduces and delves students into the basic conceps and principles in daily application of interpersonal and group communication skills for both personal and professional developments. The module's lecture classes play an important role because the knowledge and information gained in lecture classes are to be applied in real life situations and projects.
The course includes lecture models which touch upon interpersonal, group and organizational communication. Lecture classes also include teachings on perception, listening, group decision making, leadership and conflict solving. These are learnt during lecture classes where students gain knowledge on facts involving these matters and methods to overcome them and in projects where students experience real life situations.
By the end if this module, students will be able to
1. Explain concepts on communication and how people behave in different situations
2. Apply principles of communication and behaviour by analyzing people's interaction
3. Be able to analyze, handle and response to conflict among others
4. Be able to negotiate with others and deal with a variety of individuals
5. Understand, respect and build healthy relationships among others despite their cultural differences
