INFOGRAPHIC POP UP POSTER
From the information collected at the 5x5m site in Kuala Selangor, we have to choose a topic to talk on and present the information through a graphic pop up poster. The theme and topic selected has to be related to the natural environment at Kuala Selangor. We will have to do further investigation and refer to books or online information regarding the information collected and gathered from the site.
The information required on the infogrphic poster pop up poster covers:
1. An introduction of the site with the theme or topic of the information
2. Layout pictures, observation, pictures or information about the site
3. Characteristics of the habitat which relates to the chosemn topics
4. Information on the natural elements at site which relates to the chosen topic
We need to also research on how to make an infographic pop up poster. Infographic differs from usual presentation posters as it uses icons, numbers, graphs, pictures and simplified words to explain their information. From the research outcome, we have to identify what makes a good infographic pop up poster and how to create it.
Our chosen topic: Mudflat Superstars (special characteristics and adaptation to live in the mud)

Tutorial Session
We have decided to design our infographic poster based on interactive images and pictures. The animals and plants are the pop-up part of the poster where you can open up or feel them. There are information which are written on the insides of the animals, it is needed to be opened in order to be read.
After coming back from our trip, we started to gather all the information collected at Kuala Selangor. We have decided to go with the theme: Mudflat Superstars, which relates to the plants and animals which lives in this area. We have chosen this topic as there were various animals in our area and we were able to to notice how they moved about and lived in the mudflats. For example, we have seen how mudskippers jump around on the mud and crabs cralling around without sinking into the mud, like we do. We found these characteristics amazing, therefore, we have decided to work on this theme.
Infographic Pop Up Poster

This is one of the examples of our work for tutorial class
Before finalizing the final infographic pop up poster, we were lost and did not understand the comments made from the lecturers. After each tutorial class, we would have gotten the same comment in which we are not standardized with our layout. It was as if we had made each board individually instead of a group.
Other than that, we had too much information on our board that everything looks overcrowded. Everything on the infographic poster was clamped together and it looked very messy. We had no choice but to further summarize the information on the board. However, at that time, we did not explore much on the icons which could be used ro represent information. Without noticing, we focused too much on the drawings and visual quality of the poster instead.
Therefore, we tried to research on standardized layouts for pop up posters and we interpreted our problem as not having a standardized background. In the end, we decided to add roots or leaves to each of the backgroud. After the presentation, we found out that a standardized layout does not mean the same background or same big picture. It means the wordings, method of presentation and others are the same in all boards.
Most of my job while doing the inforgraphic poster was to plan the layout, do the writing and collage everything onto the poster.

Documentary Video Making
Quo Ming and I were mainly incharged for making the video. We started off by planning the storyline as a group. The storyline is to protray the consequences of destroying nature as awareness to others. After the short trailer (towards the ending of the 5 minute documentary video), there is a short interview session where we talk about the 5 senses at our 5x5m site.

The Documentary Video
From this whole project, I have done alot of reflecting on our work after the final presentation. Although I personally think that we have done a good job in making the poster, as long as it isn't up to standard or if it doesn't meet the requirement of the project, no matter how well the tasks are carried out, we will not achieve the results we have in mind.
After getting comments from lecturers and seniors of our infographic pop up poster, I took a step back and started to wonder what went wrong while doing this poster. In fact, we were all dedicated and contributed our full effort while doing the poster because everyone took their parts seriously. The problem was not the process of making the final infographic poster as a group, it was the tutorial sessions where we had made our first mistake.
In the beginning, we made plans, had discussions made an effort to come up with a proper draft. We did all this for our first tutorial session, only to be greeted with a disappointing reaction from our lecturers. Not only did we not understand what the lecturers were trying to comment on, we did not accept that our work has been rejected. That was the first mistake we made. After thinking back, the root problem was that we did not make too big of an effort in understanding what the lecturers had to say about our work. Instead, we went along with our initial plans, changing only minor things.
We actually took tutorial sessions quite lightly, thinking that whatever we think is right should be right. Assuming that our research was enough and that we did not need to do additional research after getting feedback and comments from the lecturers. Later on, on the presentation day, we had almost the same comments from each our tutorial sessions. It was then I realized the importance of tutorial sessions.
From this project, I have come to accept and understand the importance of tutorial sessions. Lecturers will be guiding us, not spoon feading us anymore. We have to take note of their comments then do further analysis, investigation or research in order to improve on our current progress to achieve a better project outcome.
In short, if only we took tutorial sessions more seriously and tried to improve on our posters based on the comments given, the project outcome might have been much better. Therefore, it is very important to be able to accept criticism, comments and feedback in order to come up with a better solution and improve on our work.
