For our first English project, we were given a topic to write about. Since I am a huge fan of both Beauty and the Beast and Tangled, I immediately picked these two films to do a compare-contrast writing on. I was very clear with both the storylines so I did not have to do much research on the storyline of both films. 

 

The tough part of this essay was doing a breakdown and analysis on both storylines. It takes a lot of understanding on the storyline in order to find points to compare on. Being able to find similarities and differences needs us time,patience and a lot of analysis. The analysis or breakdown of these stories allowed me to see through small details of the films. Paying close attention to every fine detail in the film not only allowed me to get inspiration on points to write on but also links up the story even further. It shows that each and every fine detail leads to another point which leads to thew next point.

 

Planning is one of the major necessities in writing this essay. Before starting the essay, at the film choice point, I actually had a few animated films in mind, however I picked the closest films since I was planning to do a compare (similarity) essay. In the end, I picked Beauty and the Beast & Tangled instead of the rest because they are in fact similar to one another. Instead of blindly picking two random films to compare, for example The Incredibles and Tangled which have not much relation to one another, I did a pre-analysis on each film in mind before coming to a choice at the end. This shows that pre-planning is very important in essay writing.

 

In short, this essay is a very fun essay to write on because the topic (the film's genre and film choice) was up to my own decision. I also managed to gained knowledge on how to write a proper compare contrast essay.
