RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE PROJECT
This is the final project for Constructed Landscape: Residential Landscape Project which is a continuation of the previous project (Project 2A group work). From the same previous site in Project 2A, students are required to propose a landscape design solution for the house owner. For the proposal, drawings such as conceptual diagrams, schematic diagrams, and others are needed.
Progression drawings are compulsary during each tutorial. The progression drawings must be compiled and submitted together with the presentation boards as evidence, otherwise, the student's work might be proclaimed as plagiarism. A presentation layout is needed as the submission is on presentation boards. All required information is needed to be present on the presentation board to present unnecessary marks deduction.

For this final project, the proposed drawing has to be done according to the development stage starting from the bubble diagram, to the conceptual plan and so on. After each lecture, I have to complete the drawing based on the information and guidance given in that lecture or do some extra research about the drawing. During each tutorial session, the lecturer will comment on the progress work.

This final Constructed Landscape project is a combination of the knowledge learnt in Project 2A individual and group. I have managed to gain more knowledge on how to design a proper landscape for an area depending on the topography, microclimate and existing structures. Designing a landscape involves detailed planning according to my interpretation and understanding of the house such as deciding the theme or concept of the landscape, for example, zen concept, modern concept, etc.
Other than that, I have applied what I have learnt throughout this subject while doing this project. I have understood the importance of the previous project as this current project is like a development from the basics. Without the basic knowledge on landscape architecture and proper drawing skills for landscape architecture, it would be difficult to complete this project. It was interesting on how different the house (my existing house) would look when various softscape and hardscape textures and elements are applied in the design solution.
I have understood that characteristics of an area plays an important role in design because as an architect (or landscape architect), it is wise and necessary to fully utilize the provided structure and characteristis of an area to enhance the natural surrounding of that area. This way, we can also improve the quality of lifestyle of the owner of the house.
This was the first time I have personally experience proper elevation and section drawings of buildings and other natural elements. Previously, I was never exposed to any of these, therefore it was quite difficult for me to draw especially while following the scale. From this experience, continuous practice is definitely compulsary to produce an even better final product.
In conclusion, I have understood how landscape design components works and how this knowledge is applied in landscape architecture. I have also familiarize myself with design stages and carried out proper planning and development while proposing an idea. In addition to that, I have also learnt about how simple costing is properly done when it comes to landscape architecture. It was a different experience compared to Project 2A (group) as this is mainly about my thoughts and ideas of designing the landscaping of the house.
